Agave isthmensis striata variegated
An exquisite dwarf succulent featuring powder-blue leaves streaked with creamy variegation and distinct rusty spines.
Description Agave isthmensis ‘Striata’ is a rare variegated form of the "Dwarf Butterfly Agave," prized for its compact, artichoke-like shape. The fleshy blue-green leaves are beautifully striped (striated) with cream to pale yellow markings.
It features prominent, jagged reddish-brown teeth along the margins and a sharp terminal spine. Its small size and symmetrical form make it a jewel for pot culture and succulent arrangements.
Origin & Type This is a specialized cultivar derived from a species native to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico. Our plants are 100% nursery-grown and propagated, ensuring high quality without harming wild habitats.
Care Guide
- Light: Thrives in bright indirect light to partial morning sun. Avoid harsh midday sun, which can scorch the variegated parts.
- Water: Very sensitive to overwatering. Water sparingly only when the soil is completely dry. Keep water out of the central rosette.
- Soil: Needs a gritty, mineral-heavy mix. A blend of 70% inorganic material (pumice/gravel) and 30% soil is ideal.
- Temperature: Loves the warm Indian climate (20°C–32°C). Protect from cold drafts and heavy monsoon rain.
- Growth Rate: Slow-growing dwarf variety that stays compact for its entire life.
