Myrtillocactus is a group of columnar cacti native to Mexico and parts of Central America, recognised for its blue-green stems, branching growth and distinctive waxy appearance. Some species develop irregular, candelabra-like forms, while others remain more upright and architectural. The genus is also known for its small, berry-like fruits, which are edible in certain species and commonly called garambullos in Mexico. With their unusual colour, strong silhouettes and potential for mature branching, Myrtillocactus varieties bring structure and character to cactus collections.
